Many moons ago, when perms were in fashion

I loved sketching and painting from early childhood (still, just don’t have time) and photography followed from that when I got into high school. At art school my teacher, Brian Johnson, decided to teach us photography as part of our art lessons, taking us on excursions to practise, and then to develop our own photographs. I met Mr Johnson again fairly recently, and although he’s retired now he still gives photography lessons!

Digital cameras came in and, although I still have both of my non-digital SLR cameras, I don’t use them anymore. And I desperately want more (and much better) digital equipment.. Getting good photographs with this camera is more hard work than with a top-of-the-range one, but I’m learning valuable stuff as I go along, so I am very grateful.

It’s getting to the stage now where I’m getting frustrated with my current stuff though, specially in low light. Time to upgrade. Seriously. My wish-list (all Canon!) is long (and expensive):

  • 5D Mark II body
  • Speedlite 580EX II flash
  • 70 – 200mm 2.8 L IS USM lens
  • 100mm 2.8 L Macro lens
  • 16 – 35mm 2.8 L II USM wide angle lens
  • 24 – 70mm 2.8 L USM lens
  • 14mm 2.8 L USM lens
  • EOS battery (spare)
  • EOS BG-E6 battery grip
  • Teleconverter 1.4×11

Anybody out there feeling generous, please contact me! I don’t seriously expect it of course (but would seriously welcome it :) )
